Strutur at Dawn

from £180.00

Limited Edition of 20

Location: Southern highlands, Iceland

Extracting myself from my sleeping bag an hour before sunrise in order to make the ascent to this viewpoint, I was hopeful of a clear sky on the eastern horizon, which would allow the first rays of sunlight to bathe the slopes of Strutur (and Mælifjell in the distance) in golden light. Luck was on my side, but the delicate balance of light and shade captured in this photograph lasts for a few minutes only, before harsh direct sunlight takes over and the serenity of dawn is lost.
