Aspen Glow
Open Edition
Location: Colorado, USA
I have photographed a lot of aspen trees. Photographers love them because their closely-spaced, straight, vertical trunks, with white bark that appears to luminesce in the right light, make for appealing, graphic images. However, in this group of aspen trunks, the two protagonists - the forked one and the bent one - defy these norms, creating a visual tension between the two that I enjoy. Not to mention that glow, which is on show in spades.
