Location: Loch Maree, Torridon, Scotland
Loch Maree, with the unique outline of Slioch rising from its northern shore, must be one of the most frequently photographed vistas in the north-west of Scotland. So, it is a real challenge to find a personal (if not necessarily unique) perspective on this landscape. I have spent many hours trudging through deep heather and tussock grass alongside Loch Maree in search of interesting compositions that incorporate Slioch, to locate the image. Sometimes, as on the day I made this photograph, one is rewarded with a fresh take on a familiar scene.
