Autumn Birch

from £125.00

Open Edition

Location: Glen Affric, Scotland

While location scouting on a very wet October morning that held little prospect for a decent photograph, I had in my mind's eye an image of a lone birch tree, resplendent in autumn colours and adorned with delicate lichen. To my surprise, I found more or less exactly what I was looking for, but I would need to negotiate deep undergrowth to get into a position for a clean shot. This is the resulting photograph, made during a heavy downpour, proving once again that a large umbrella is a landscape photographer's best friend.
